Week 8

Activity: Workshop 4, research on previous project, block diagram and flowchart

This week I attended workshop 4 which is about presentation and defense proposal. It was held via MS Teams on Wednesday, 30/11/2022 at 2.30 PM until 4.30 PM. In this workshop, the speaker explains on:

• Preparation Slide Presentation and documentation

• Tips & Tricks of presentation

I continue on research papers about face detection. I start with “Using Popular Object Detection Methods for Real Time Forest Fire Detection”. In this paper, 3 algorithms were used which is Faster R-CNN, YOLO and Single Shot Detector (SSD) to make fire detection using machine learning. The aim of this research paper is to compare the results between the algorithms. Besides face detection, the authors also make a system to detect smoke. From this paper I read, I concluded that SSD has the highest accuracy of fire detection but has less performance on smoke detection. 

In this week also I started a little on the methodology. I make a block diagram and determine the flowchart of my project for starters. Picture below shows my block diagram and flowchart.
